Mortgage Insurance Risk Share

Fannie Mae has a long-standing practice of sharing risk with mortgage insurance companies. The transactions listed below are credit enhancements that Fannie Mae purchased from mortgage insurance companies in order to transfer risk to private sources of capital. The transactions labeled "EPMI" are forward charter-compliant insurance arrangements secured by Fannie Mae and cover loans delivered under the Enterprise Paid Mortgage Insurance (EPMI) option.
